GATÖ NEGRO Promo Shoot – a look behind the scenes, location, laughs and a huge backdrop in the Andalucian hills. There are not many locations you can reach in such a rural location that simply ooze ‘band promo shoot’ but the abandoned mine on the outskirts of Orce village in Granada is certainly one of them. A relatively early 10.00am start in January beginning with plenty of cloud cover made the situation even better and with a changeable forecast lighting conditions were going to be a challenge in such a big location.
There are also not that many hills in Spain (or anywhere I don’t think) that sport an old Spanish donut trailer, no jam fillings here though – just a rusty old trailer that has seen every type of weather Andalucia has to throw at it as well as plenty of evidence left behind by the the local livestock… Cracking location!
As with all photo shoots there needs to be time to settle in and chill out a little before the hard work starts, GATÖ NEGRO on the other hand had plenty of ‘ganas’ (as we say in Spain) right from the off and by midday the lads were positioning themselves with their own ideas, using the location and waiting to get shot…
Big rocks and explosions- kind of fitting as these guys tend to pump out their tracks with an enormous amount of energy.
A wider view of the location (fisheye right), the band played three tracks from their album ‘INSTINTO’, things were beginning to warm up…
Left: Flying high with guitarist Jaime – did I mention the lads were up for it?
