Woodland photo shoot with Mila Asensio Ortega, I have been meaning to photograph Mila for a while, the problem has been getting the timing right as Mila, although from Orce works in Malaga so there is a very limited window of time to work with when we can both set aside a couple of hours. This December though we managed to get things together for an on location shoot in the nearby woods close to the village.
The Autumn season/beginning of winter in the Altiplano throws up some changeable weather conditions but we were lucky enough to enjoy some sunshine on a fairly mild day for the time of year, the wood was also chosen for that mottled light effect that is created naturally through the pine forest and although I was shooting at midday in strong light the location was pretty good through breaking sun and occasional cloud cover – gets you fiddling with camera settings like there is no tomorrow!
Mila was superb, having just left the salon and made up already there was no need for a stylist for this 1 hour shoot, the images began to work pretty much straight away, a little direction and a few ideas and it all just began to happen.
Props: Cuddly toys, retro film cameras and big knives – always interesting getting a few bits a pieces involved in the shoot
Behind the Scenes:
Always good to get a few oddball shots when out on location, sorting out clothes, transport slowly building a collection of reflectors and props…. and the camera shy hubby.
